Hi, my name is Keith Boone. Welcome to my photography and blog site where I share stories and images from beautiful Victoria, British Columbia and the rest of Vancouver Island. My main areas of interest include nature, wildlife, and landscape photography. Now and then I manage to get off the island, and when that happens I will invite you to follow along with my travels. Thanks for visiting!
It’s that time of year in Victoria – the rainy season has arrived, the days are getting shorter and everything is covered in water drops. There are two things you should take with you when going out for a walk… First, paper towels in case you plan to sit down anywhere from now until next …
I just love a natural looking photograph, and if necessary, I’ll go to any lengths to fake one! When it comes to bird photography, I would rather capture a photo of a bird perched on a branch than on a fence or a bird feeder. In this post, I show a simple bird ‘setup’ that …

After spending the years 2000 to 2012 doing IT work for engineering firms in Toronto, Ontario, I’d had enough. Cathy and I sold our house and everything we owned which wouldn’t fit into a Dodge mini-van and we drove out to beautiful Victoria, British Columbia.
We arrived in Victoria on a stormy Halloween night, October 31st, 2012. Our furnished sublet apartment was waiting and our good friend Jane met us with soup and bread and wine! As I emptied the van and hauled everything we owned up the stairs, the wind was howling and the ocean waves were crashing on the beach. Just around midnight, the wind calmed and I heard music coming from the Ross Bay Cemetery… it was Bach’s Toccata & Fugue in D Minor, best known – to me at least – from horror movies… and it was being played flawlessly on an accordion.
All I could think was – Welcome to the west coast baby! Just wait till I get my camera out!
I’m pleased to offer greeting cards and photo prints on a wide range of materials including paper, canvas, acrylic, metal and wood.
Like to say hello? Please drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you!
